Riva Sound Records presents:

X-Team

Vassil Mitrev "Starterass", Konstantin Iliev "Killa K" and Pavel Baev "Mista P" began rapping under the name of X-Team in February 1999, but they knew each other long ago.
Killa K and Mista P grew up together in the "Oborishte" neighborhood in Sofia and in 1993, while still studying at school, became interested in rap music, and, in 1995 started to rap under the name "Street Standard".
Startera, on the other hand, became a hip-hop fan in 1988, but it wasn't until three years later that he began to actively involve himself with rapping and B-Boying when Alex Mix showed him some Break Dance movements.

In 1995 Starterass, known at the time as Vasso M, together with Alex Mix released the album "Starterass '95", which was in the Miami Bass style.
Killa K and Startera met each other in the school they were both studying at.

In 1998 the band "BULdoggz" was formed consisting of M'glata, S-Boy, The Poet, Jongov and Somalia (N.I.S.H.T.O.), The Face, Vasso M, West Side Soldiers, DJ Stancho and Momchi (Dead Poets).
This line-up recorded several songs. Later on, Vasso invited Killa K, then known as K-Double-I, to record a song together.
Killa K invited Mista P to join them and so, the members of "Street Standard" became also members of this "all-star" band.
Two girls under the moniker Shekspir B's also join in. After one year, though, the band fell apart. After the break-up Starterass, Killa K, Mista P, The Face and Shekspir B's stayed together and formed X-Team. This line-up recorded two songs and shot one video clip after which The Face and Shekspir B's left.
The remaining three members continue rapping and recording together, gaining popularity with the hit-song "Den Diggie", which won its authors the Best Performer/Band award for 1999 given by the Domino (now Alligator) discotheque.

In March 2000 the trio began to work for the MM music television hosting the hip-hop show B-Side.
Throughout the year 2000 and the beginning of 2001 X-Team toured extensively, took part in several hip-hop festivals and did many club performances around Bulgaria (some of them with Rap Nation and Misho Shamara).

In June 2001 X-Team became the first (and only) Bulgarian rap artists to perform at a festival outside Bulgaria.
They took part in the national rap and break festival in Vienna, Austria, together with the best Bulgarian break band Electric Force.
In the beginning of July X-Team sign a contract with Riva Sound Records.

In October 2001 X-Team took part as special guests in the Misho Shamara's tour "Mine". X-Team's debut album "Knowledge, Wisdom and Understanding" was released by Riva Sound in the end of the same year.
The album clocks in at 74 minutes, which makes it the longest rap album in Bulgaria. The music was written by Vassil Mitrev "Startera". The lyrics were written by the three of them and lack the typical obscenities for this genre. It is the reason why there isn't a sign on the CD-cover that says "Parental Advisory: Explicit Lyrics". The first single form the album is "If everyone/Jump".
The second single and video clip is called "Minus Second Floor". During the fourth MM music television's annual awards ceremony, X-Team's album "Knowledge, Wisdom and Understanding" got the first prize in the category "Best Rap Album".
