Riva Sound Records presents:

Valdy Totev

Valdy Totev, one of the best known Bulgarian rock musicians, is most popular not only for being the keyboard player and second vocalist of the hard rock veterans The Crickets, but also with his solo career.

Born on August 4, 1951, Valdy started his music career in 1973 when he joined the rockers Factor. Later on, in 1976, Mr. Totev became a part of The Crickets and... well, he simply turned into a legend, together with his bandmates.

However, what's more important at present, is Valdy's solo activity. His debut solo album was released by Riva Sound Records in 1992 - "Colour-blind" (RS-0110). The second one followed three years later - "Crossroad".

"In the Sunset Hour" is Valdy Totev's third solo offering. It contains 13 melodic pop/rock songs recorded in 1999 and written, arranged and performed by Valdy himself (he's responsible for the vocals, keyboards, harmonica and the drums).

The lyrics to the tracks are written by well-known Bulgarian contemporary poets, a.o. Alexander Petrov, Jiva Kiuldjieva, Pavel Matev, Dimitar Kerelezov, Theo Shishmanov and Rumiana Tashkova. There's also a composition based on one of Robert Burns' famous poems. Just listen to "In the Sunset Hour" and find out what we're talking about.
