Riva Sound Records presents:
Panayot Panayotov was born in Aitos. He graduated from the Bulgarian Music Academy in 1976. He began his career as a lead singer in various bands. His career as a solo artist began in the end of the 70's. In 1979 Panayot Panayotov won the first prize at the Golden Orpheus music festival and the best-performer award at the festival in Castlebar, Ireland. In 1980 he won for the second time the first prize at the Golden Orpheus festival with his song "Paternal Roof". "The Boy that Speaks to the Sea", which Panayot performed at the music contest "Songs for the Sea" in Bourgas in 1980, proved to be his biggest hit.
In 1994 Riva Sound released Panayot's album "Country Woman", which soon became one of the best-selling albums on the Bulgarian music market. This bestseller also marked the artist's return in the limelight after a short break. His album with Rossi Kirilova "Without a Mask and a Makeup" almost immediately caused another boom on the market. His next solo projects - the two albums "The Singer" and "Slavs", released simultaneously on MC and CD, add to the list of successful entries in his discography. There is something more: with these albums Panayot Panayotov reminds the general public that music not only brings joy but also brings people together. In 1999 Riva Sound released the compilation "The Boy that Speaks to the Sea - Golden Hits" available both on MC and CD, and containing, as the title suggests, all his previous hits. Panayot's 11th album since 1980 - "Sign: Aries - Golden Hits 2", released by Riva Sound again, contains the famous songs "Bansko", "Stay Here", "Look for Me in the Rhodopes", "Hey Dear" (duet with Rossi Kirilova), and many others. There is also a brand-new song in the album called "Ballad for Gundi". In spite of his many successes on the music scene, one of the most popular Bulgarian voices doesn't intend to quit his career, but instead, Panayot is convinced that his greatest songs lie ahead.
